On March 21, Doosan Corporation (Chairman Yongmaan Park) granted over US$ 100,000 to students at the ‘Youth Start!’ scholarship award ceremony at Doosan Tower, Jung-gu, Seoul.
The ‘Youth Start!’ scholarship program—launched last year in partnership with Seoul Scholarship Foundation (Chairperson Kyung-Hee Rhee)—operates funds raised through donations of Doosan Corporation employees.
After reviewing presented documents and conducting interviews, Doosan Corporation admitted 15 finalists among students recommended by the Seoul Scholarship Foundation into the scholarship program. Additional financial support will also be granted to the 13 beneficiaries from the previous year in a bid to continuously support the growth of the students.
“Our employees voluntarily raised funds and organized the Fund Management Committee to manage the scholarship program,” said President Gwang-ju Choi of Doosan Corporation. “Through this program, we hope students grow up to be invaluable talents."
